Activity 3: Representing our own Stories through Images
Description
Stories of participants will be represented through images created on the topics of both daily life and representation of world views. Participants will then be invited to provide feedback and comments on the images posted by their peers using the RISE Model (Reflect, Inquire, Suggest, Elevate).
Task
Step 1 - What images represent aspects of your daily life? This can include a view that you might see when you look outside your window in the morning, a preferred grocery story, restaurant or coffee shop, the location of hobbies you may enjoy, or supplies/equipment/material that you may use as part of a creative or athletic activity. This could also include some of the important people in your life including friends or family members.
Capture 3 different images and post them in our gallery. To have it posted in your blog, copy the image url in gallery and use the blog image edit button to include the image to the blog. Include a description on how the images represent your daily life.
Step 2 - What images or symbols represent your worldview? If you reflect back on your childhood and your ancestors, what aspects of your identity have the greatest influence on your sense of self? Are there particular cultural, religious, political, social or environmental factors that have had an impact on who you are or who you aspire to be. How do you relate to past generations? Are there places you have been to or people you have met that have defined your understanding of the world?
Capture 3 different images and post them in our gallery. To have it posted in your blog, copy the image url in gallery and use the blog image edit button to include the image to the blog. Include a description on how the images represent your daily life.
Step 3 - Provide Feedback: Using the RISE Model (Reflect, Inqurie, Suggest, Elevate) provide feedback to fellow participants in this Mini-Course on the images they have posted as a comment below selected images in the virtual classroom. Reflect on how it relates to your own experience (express appreciation in your comment for something specific about what you see in the image posted and what it might help you learn about yourself and your own history).
Step 4: Submit reflections on Activity Three in your HP Catalyst Academy profile.
